Not only does this provide a flexibility of design approach, it also allows the transmission and receipt of drawings and 3D information in the commonly used file formats. This requirement has become increasingly important with suppliers and customers enabling their own design cycles to be shortened. All drawing files are managed electronically by a full 'issue control' software package. This enables CAD users to manage, create and edit designs whilst ensuring revision accuracy and traceability
