Texas Instruments introduced a new family of multicore DSPs said to provide the industry’s highest performance at the lowest power levels - this new line of devices was created for use in HPC (High Performance Computing) applications

NXP announced what was called the industry’s first asymmetrical dual-core DSC with Cortex M0 core processor; this device was manufactured based upon ultra low leakage 90 nanometer technology, and adds DSP and floating point performance to the previous generation’s microcontroller product.

ADI has most recently introduced a low cost Blackfin processor with an optimized peripheral set for use in both general purpose and industrial/automotive applications.
