This study looks at the European machine-to-machine (M2M) market, which is recovering from a tough 2009 that primarily has adversely affected the hardware side of the market. The study focuses on wireless sensing solutions, including M2M and RFID consulting, design, implementation, and managed services. Essentially, many potential projects have been delayed or completely discontinued. Going forward we expect projects to come out of the drawer. The two most promising markets seem to be healthcare and consumer electronics. It is, however, important that prospective vendors understand that the M2M market segments are very different from each other and need specific strategies and partnerships.
