Metrology is the science of measuring the dimensions of objects to uncertainties of One Nanometre (1nm)  or less. Metrology specializes in measuring dimensions, frequency, temperature, hardness, mass, speed, acceleration etc with the specialized equipments/tools. Metrology is necessary in all aspects of human development as it is used in various activities like purity levels of the atmosphere and water, control of production, evaluation of health and safety. Metrology describes new methods of measurement developing and analyzing those new methods and their accuracy. Metrology establishes the uncertainty of measurement and its main function deals with guarantying their accuracy by comparing with international standards.
