This report presents Taiwanese LCD monitor shipment volume and value forecasts, as well as recent quarter review of shipment volume, value, ASP, shipment ranking, shipment by maker, and product mix and also provides price trends, production locations, shipment destinations, and business types by ODM/OBM/private label. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with LCD monitor makers.

The report finds that the Taiwanese industry was affected by the global economic crisis, which affected end-market demand. LCD monitor brands and distributors cleared inventories and reduced the number of orders given to contract manufacturers, impacting LCD monitor shipment. As a result, shipment volume of the Taiwanese industry declined 7.4% sequentially and 7.2% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2008. In the first quarter of 2009, continued shipment decline is expected. Shipment is forecast to gradually rebound from the second quarter of 2009.
