In terms of electronics production Hungary is the second largest producer in CEE with 22% of the region’s output in 2014, the country losing its leading position during the year following the sharp decline in the production of mobile phones since 2010. As a result communications and radar accounted for 14.5% of the total in 2014 (37% in 2010), behind computing (25%), control and instrumentation (22%) and consumer video (17%). After growth of 14.2% in 2010, production rebounding from the global downturn in the prior year, electronics output declined by 3.8% in 2011, 13.5% in 2012, 11.1% in 2013 and 6.0% in 2014. Declining production in the 3C segments in 2014 was partly offset by double digit-growth in control and instrumentation.
